Process Definition

The Develop Project Team process is the process of improving skills and competencies within the project team.  Building skills as a team also helps build and foster an atmosphere of team work and trust.  The key benefit of this process is that it does more than build individual skills, it builds group and team skills as a set.

Process Assessment

Gathering human resources is perhaps the easiest part of acquiring a project team, but are they really a team, or just a group of individuals?  Project management is tasked with development of necessary skillsets in an effort to not only complete the project deliverable, but also build a team.  The necessity in building and fostering team work is an essential element in ensuring project success and team cohesion.  If this process is taken seriously, a team will develop and produce a quality project deliverable.

1. PMGT 611 Group Alpha Team Building: This PMGT 611 Group assignment was to create team building through the establishment of guidelines and standards of behavior.  These tools & techniques serve as one of the basis for team member assessments.  
2. PMGT 611 Blog "Building Teams": This PMGT 611 Blog draws upon my own experience with the Peace Dragon Program in Baghdad, Iraq.  As a tool & technique, our ability to build a strong team, we were able to create a set of norms that would ultimately lead to our success.  
3. Kitchen Renovation Human Resource Management Plan: This PMGT 501 Group Project outlined a fictitious Kitchen Renovation Project.  As an input to the Develop Project Team Process, this plan identifies those skillsets required for the project team to possess.
