Process Definition

This process involves defining and identifying personnel requirements and then acquiring the personnel who best fit those requirements.  The benefit of this process is that it outlines and helps guide the team selection process.

Process Assessment

The key importance to any project is the experience within the team.  This process tackles the difficulty in identifying those experiences needed to ensure team selection best matches the identified needs.  In cases where human resources are shared among projects, it is important that the project manager be aware of what is available and what is needed at any given point within the project life cycle.  

Artifacts

1.  Kitchen Renovation Human Resource Management PlanThis PMGT 501 Group Project outlined a fictitious Kitchen Renovation Project.  As an input to the Acquire Project Team Process, this plan establishes the personnel foundation and skillsets required to accomplish the project.   

2. Negotiation Skills Exercise: This PMGT 611 WBS 4.4 assignment was to visit the topic of negotiation.  As a tool & technique, good negotiation skills are invaluable to any project manager.  

3. Virtual Teams: This PMGT 611 WBS 4.3 Blog discusses the strengths and weaknesses of project virtual teams.  As a tool & technique help project management identify which talents need to be acquired physically, and which on need to assist in the virtual environment.
