Process Definition

The Control Communication Process involves the monitoring and controlling of communications from project initiation through the closure process.  The key benefit of this process is it ensures required stakeholders receive the necessary information to successfully accomplish their portion of the project process.  Failing to meet communications expectations leads to delays in change approval and understanding of actual project progress.

Process Assessment

Project managers are responsible for controlling communications.  Failing to exchange the correct information with the correct stakeholders can create confusion and unnecessary problems.  In order for the process to succeed, each stakeholder's informational needs must be identified so that the information they require, and only that information, is communicated in a clear and concise manner.
