Process Definition

Now that each activity is defined, it is critical that each activity and deliverable is organized into a logical order to ensure the most effective use of materials, workforce, and time.  The effective sequencing of activities provides a detailed plan to each stakeholder with regards to their involvement, and the project managers need for communication-based on stakeholder interest and impact.

Process Assessment

This process builds the picture of how the project will unfold.  Successful sequencing helps identify activities within the critical path and those activities with more flexibility.  As a result, further decomposition might occur and help project managers and stakeholders further define their roles within the project life cycle.
