Process Definition

Plan procurement management is the processes necessary to secure workforce, material, or services in support of project deliverables and objectives.  Included in this process is the securing and monitoring of contracts needed in those regards.  The procurement plan provides a guide when determining whether or not it is better to provide or contract services in support of project objectives.

Process Assessment

Planning, conducting, controlling, and closing procurements is a fluid process which requires an understanding of procurement management.  Simply ordering parts is not enough.  Identifying potential delays and securing the needed material, on time, is what will determine whether or not a project remains on track or begins to experience schedule slip.  Each process depends upon another.  If one begins to slip, the chain reaction could eventually derail the project process.
