5.0 - Project Scope Management

Project Scope Management involves the identification and defining of all work required to ensure a successful project completion.  Project Scope Management processes used in this process group are:

5.5 Validate Scope
5.6 Control Scope

5.5 - Validate Scope

Process Definition

This process assures acceptance of each final project deliverable.  It ensures that the deliverables have been completed according to the project scope, and have been accepted by the customer.  The key benefit to this process is that it seeks acceptance without regard to personal emotions, opinions, or feelings.

Process Assessment

Scope validation assures the final deliverable will meet the needs of the customer and stakeholders.  It is important that the scope be identified and validated as early as possible to help prevent changes to the scope as a result of scope creep and slippage.

1.  Work Performance Data (Input):  This PMGT 614 Group Assignment creates a dashboard design for a bicycle project.  This dashboard provides a snapshot view of the projects schedule, risk, quality, and budget.

2.  Group Decision Making Techniques (Tools & Techniques):  This PMGT 524 class discussion involved the differences between decision making under certainty, decision making under risk, and decision making under uncertainty. As a group we must each understand how we would react in order go come to a consensus.
