The Executing process is where the work defined in the project management plan is completed to the identified specifications.  The project team coordinates resources, manages stakeholder, while performing the activities for the project.  Integrating each of the project processes into an orchestrated effort to meet project requirements.  This is where the project iterative processes begin.  As each component of the project is executed it provides input or feed back to update or alter the original planned process.  Risk become better define and may arise or become obsolete.  This process involves constant evaluation, analysis and redirection to keep the project on course.  At each juncture coordination with stakeholder must occur at time this may mean gaining further approval to continue.

The executing process overlaps the monitoring and controlling process.  As issues are found during the monitoring and controlling process, changes are implemented and under the executing process.  Therefore this process takes up a majority of the time and money in a project.  In the Executing Process Group the Knowledge Areas and processes are:
