Process Definition

This process identifies and documents specific actions to be performed to produce the project deliverables.  This process breaks down packages into activities that provide a basis for estimating, scheduling, executing, monitoring and controlling work (PMI, 2013).

Process Assessment

Defining the activities to create the WBS and the statement of work is critical.  Many times in my work organization, they do not have these activities addressed.  They will say, here are some resources, get it done by next month.  This sets us up for failure.  In the Air Force, not having qualified or trained personnel is more common than not.
